The Brave Incident

By Vani – Grade 4It was a luminous day. The scintillating sun was as busy as a beaver, playing hide and seek with the clouds. My beloved mother hit the roof when I did not do my monotonous homework.

My brother, who was the apple of my eye, was playing with his comrades on the ground floor when it started raining cats and dogs. I was over the moon as I yearned to miss my school because of the rain. Out of the blur it started flooding, the water reached up till the pedestrian’s knees. I was as busy as a bee doing my homework when a strident noise greeted my ears. It was my brother who was stuck in the water. My heart skipped a beat but I  still had nerves of steel, I ran downstairs. I glanced at my beloved brother who was stuck. Since i was good at swimming. I pranced into the water to save my brother. At the drop of a hat he noticed and help by my shoulder. Time flew like a bird. It stopped flooding. Our schools were called off because of the rain. At first our beloved mother was a cat on bricks. She reprimanded my brother for reckless playing in the rain and not informing her when his companions invited him to play. My parents we proud as peacocks. My neighbours praised me seeing m bravery. My brother thanked me from me bottom of his heart.
