“Ouch !” I grasped my throbbing head which hit the robust wall. When will the  lucent orb rise , illuminating the colossal and atramentous surroundings. I pondered to myself. Perspiration adorned my body in this sweltering surroundings.

I yearn to be  liberated from this deplorable dungeon. Here I am lying melancholically in a dusty shelf,  in a grisly state.
My pleas have fallen on deaf ears  incessantly. Why can’t my benevolent mistress whisk me away from this  abhorrent and unhygienic place ? My gloomy face still wears a beaming smile as memories of my youth creep into my mind, let me rewind a few years for you.
I was born in an elephantine factory working for Hamleys, a renowned toy shop. I was an alluring doll which innumerable girls adore. My crowning glory was my long blonde glistening hair. I had  a pink hat and a pink polka dotted dress. I had  a whale of a time with my  pals and companions. Soon , I  was despondent as I  had to depart from my sweet abode.
We were loaded in an enormous truck. Minutes turned into hours, hours turned into days and at last we reached our destination. I was  placed in a ravishing shop , ‘Hamleys’ . I had befriended copious of toys like me. One by one, I would see them go away. After donkey’s years , an adorable girl purchased me. I was so ebullient to catch a glimpse of my new house. My new mistress was Mia.
I painted the town red, frolicking with Mia and other toys in her humongous room. I missed Mia when she was in school. I was the apple of her eye. I felt blue when she didn’t choose me to sleep with. I was always on cloud nine. Everything was tranquil till she commenced to get new toys. Over the years, Mia got a myriad of new toys, the old ones remained on the shelf. So one day, I was placed on  that shelf. I was as infuriated as a wasp. Hoe could Mia be so vicious ? I was disheartened and melancholic.
As time flies like a bird, Mia passed primary. She never had time for us toys. Now, all of us are kept on a shelf as a showpiece. I grin from ear to ear everyday when I see her alluring face, remembering the time when I was the new toy frolicking with Mia.
