Understanding GRAMMAR topics aids in sentence and text structure in Creative writing.

Basic : The sun shone brightly. The birds were chirping. Elaine was a beautiful girl who was very forgetful. She was sad because she had lost her keys. How would she go home now?

Grammar Power:
The glistening [shiny adjective] sun blazed [ shone – verb] radiantly [ brightly -adverb]. The glorious [ adjective] flock [ collective noun] of birds were chirping delightfully / merrily [ adverb]. Elaine was a gorgeous [ beautiful] girl who was quite [ adverb – very] forgetful. She was doleful [ adjective] as / since / for [ because – conjunction] she had lost her bunch [ collective noun ] of keys. How would she return to her residence [home – noun] now?

Vocabulary Simile Idioms

i) Rohan is happy because scored good marks.

ii) Rohan is elated as he scored glorious marks.

Rohan is as elated as a lark as he scored splendid marks. Rohan is on cloud nine as he passed his exams with flying colours.


NOTE: please note , it is imperative for the children to read the creative writing books minimum thrice a week to ensure they are able to grasp and enhance the language learnt in class.

Opening the book right before the assessment will not work to see a great enhancement in your writing skills. [Unfortunately, it does not work like Aladdin’s magic lamp]

Every week the children are provided with one creative writing assignment which is required to be submitted in the following week for evaluation. Ensure regular submission of the writing assignment so that the child does not find it burdensome and monotonous.
