Pristine Waves

By Rudhra Tiwari – Grade 6

Here I awoke ransacking for my marker when I found it , I darted like lightning towards the calendar crossing out yesterday’s date when my mind’s bell rang and I came to know that today was a magnificent day for me as today I had to visit the beach with my amiable family. I was in the seventh heaven.

Then in a jiffy, I completed my daily chores and darted like the wind downstairs with my bags as cumbrous as if filled with gargantuan pebbles and rocks. I discerned my mom baking delicious cookies which made my mouth drool like a waterfall and from my crystal clear window, I saw my dad starting our luxurious car when I couldn’t bear the zeal in me , soon I started my expedition.
Time flew like a bird when we reached the alluring beach. There were a myriad of people. Some were constructing humongous castles, few were swimming in the water like a fish. Others were gulping the spicy food like they had not eaten since light years. I was doing something out of the box compared to all others, collecting majestic sea shells for my collection. I found a wide array of them scattered like thousands  pieces of broken glass everywhere. I capered with zeal at the resplendent sight of the sea shells.
I loved the sound of the dulcet chirps of the volery of birds which was music to my ears, the waves crashing against the shore with their whole might and lastly I picked up two shells and  placed them near my ears, the sound was unique and euphonic. Now something queer happened, we saw the alluring dance of a monkey, it was as flexible as a acrobat performer. I captured this in my mind like a photo in  a camera. Then there was a multi coloured rainbow adorning the sky enhancing its appearance. Then we went to the pristine clear water. The rich feel of the frozen water flowing on my legs made me feel exultant. I adored the smell of the rich sand greeting me, the splendid aroma of the buttery cookies baked by my mother.
Soon the sun was setting and it was a ravishing scenery which  I  saw then it was time to wave goodbye and we went home.
This incident was captured in my mind like a photo’s screenshot.
