By Vihaan M – Grade 3

Dear Sunil,
I hope this letter of mine finds you and your wonderful family sailing in the ocean of peace and prosperity. I am in the pink of health i am penning this letter to shed some light on the festival of Diwali.

India is renowned as the land of festival. Our splendid country celebrates innumerable joyous festival with pomp and gaiety. Out of all festivals there is one festival which is dear to me and holds a special place in my heart. It is the sparkling festival of Diwali. The magnificent festival of Hindus it is popularly known as the festival o f lights. We celebrated Diwali for 5 days in a fun filled way. We started preparation before Diwali we worked as hard as an ant for cleaning our residence/ abode. After cleaning it appeared as colourful as a rainbow. We decorated our house and shop with glittery tape which was gleaming like stars at night. We also decorated our house and shop with gorgeous and fragrant flower. My mother made attractive rangolies with vibrant bright colours. On Diwali we did Pooja of Goddess Laxmi. Goddess Laxmi is the Goddess of wealth, we purchased scrumptious sweet meats and glorious gift. We also purchased new clothes and wore them.  We went to our beloved companies and relatives house to eat the sweetmeats and exchanged splendid gifts. We also purchased fire crackers and had a whale of a time bursting them. We should burst low audible and less smoke emitting crackers. Some animals also get terrified of the loud noises. I had a memorable and unforgettable Diwali vacation.

Convey my warm regards to your grandparents, parents and love to your appealing siblings. Hope to hear from you soon.

Your loving friend,
Rohan
